Advisory Committee Considering When to Resume Sound Runner Ferry Service

The Port of Kingston continues to work on reestablishing Kingston to downtown Seattle passenger ferry service.

The service kicked off on Oct. 18 but was suspended on Nov. 18 because of a blown engine to the main boat, the Spirit of Kingston, and boarding-ramp concerns with the backup vessel, Victoria Express. Unusually bad weather also forced some trips to be canceled.

Both ferries are now ready to go, according to the port. A new boarding ramp has been built and installed for the Victoria Express.
